Why I Want to Teachin Taiwan

I am a trained educator who is open, personable, passionate, and a quick learner who is eager for new experiences.
My first and foremost reason for wanting to teach in Taiwan is that I have been interested in traveling and truly experiencing another culture for years.  I haven’t gotten the opportunity because I decided to dedicate myself to getting my degree first. Now I have my degree and I am ready to go!
Another significant reason why I want to do this is because I am a teacher.  I love to teach.  It is a passion I have had for since I was fifteen.  I have been involved with children since I’ve been old enough to babysit.  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child form a relationship with me through my mentorship.  This includes when I am teaching them.  Teaching is something I find immense satisfaction in and educating students towards learning the English language is something I believe will give me just as much satisfaction.
When you take the two desires of wanting to travel and wanting to teach, going in this direction with my life just makes sense.
Lastly one might ask why I want to teach in Taiwan in specific.  When I first started realizing that teaching English abroad was something that I was interested in, I didn’t know exactly where I wanted to go.  It seemed like a profession that really opened the world to me and I couldn’t make up my mind.  A year and a half ago my relationship with a friend who moved to Taiwan to get his Master in Fine Arts in ceramics changed.  He became my boyfriend and in turn that determined where I wanted to go.
Not only does having my boyfriend living in Taiwan motivates me to go, but also I want an experience a culture that is completely different from my own.  I feel that it is truly something that will challenge me and transform me as a person.  I feel I am a person who is very good at adaptation.  Whatever environment I get into, I know I will be able to make the best of it.
I intend to be a hard worker in any position I get put in.  I take pride in everything that I do.  How my student’s progress is something I feel is a direct reflection on how well I teach them.  I am so excited to get started with teaching English and could think of anything I want to be doing with my life.  It is something I am passionate about doing as well is traveling and living in a different culture.  Asia has always intriguing and alluring to me and it’s an opportunity that has many great aspects that deeply interest me.
